My name is Miriam Bulcher and I am a Certified Personal Trainer (CSEP) as well as a Certified Fitness Instructor (OFC), Certified C.O.R.E Indoor cycling Instructor. My fitness life started around the age of 16, I was overweight and self concious, I hated my body though inside I knew I had to do something about it. My brother was going to school to be a doctor and he loaned me this book on becoming healthy following the glycemic index. I followed a healthy eating pattern and in about 3 months lost 20 lbs. After I lost the weight I wanted to help others do so, and so began my fitness career.
I graduated from George Brown in Toronto with my certification, not knowing exactly what i wanted to do (yet managed to meet the love of my life, that always makes things better!), so I moved home to Nova Scotia and nannied for 4 months (wow what a huge insight to parenthood that is!) and landed a job as a Fitness and Sports Instructor for the Canadian Forces.
I got married last month, in the past year I have lost 40 lbs, I oftentimes struggle with motivation, self esteem, where my priorities are in life and this is my blog about it. This is my journey to learn more about myself, my fitness career, spirituality and life in general, it is a struggle and it is my goal to overcome that.
